Terms of Use
Last updated: August 11, 2026
These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Framecatch (framecatch.example.com). By using the site, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use Framecatch.
1. What Framecatch is
Framecatch is a free, browser-based utility that retrieves publicly available YouTube video thumbnail images at various resolutions, based on a video link or ID you provide. It does not download videos, audio, or any content other than the thumbnail image itself.
2. Acceptable use
You agree to use Framecatch only for lawful purposes. You will not use the tool to:
- Attempt to access thumbnails or content from private, unlisted, or otherwise restricted videos through unauthorized means
- Automate mass, high-volume requests intended to overload the site or YouTube's servers
- Misrepresent thumbnail images as your own original work in a way that infringes someone else's rights
- Use the tool to violate any applicable law or the rights of any third party
3. Ownership of thumbnail images
Framecatch does not claim any ownership over the thumbnail images it helps you access. Thumbnails are created by video uploaders and are typically protected by copyright, owned by the uploader, YouTube, or another rights holder. Framecatch simply provides a convenient way to view and reference images that are already publicly served by YouTube. Responsibility for how a downloaded thumbnail is subsequently used rests entirely with the user.
If you plan to reuse a thumbnail for anything beyond personal reference or fair-use commentary, you should seek permission from the rights holder.
4. No affiliation with YouTube or Google
Framecatch is an independent, third-party tool and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by YouTube LLC or Google LLC. "YouTube" is a trademark of Google LLC, referenced here solely to describe the compatibility of our tool.
5. Service availability
Framecatch relies on YouTube's publicly available thumbnail image infrastructure. We do not control that infrastructure and cannot guarantee uninterrupted availability. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the site at any time without notice.
6. Disclaimer of warranties
Framecatch is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to accuracy, reliability, or fitness for a particular purpose. We do not guarantee that every thumbnail size will be available for every video.
7. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Framecatch and its operators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the site or any images obtained through it.
8. Advertising
Framecatch may display third-party advertisements, including through Google AdSense, to support the free operation of the site. Ad content is served by third-party networks and does not represent an endorsement by Framecatch. See our Privacy Policy for details on advertising cookies.
9. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms periodically. Continued use of Framecatch after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
10. Contact
